Kassidy

Chef Kassidy in her first cooking contest. She Won. (she was also the only contestant)
The judges thought that she was amazing. I thought so too.
Her table was so pretty. The judges were very impressed that a kid her age could make such great food. She made Chips and salsa, homemade wheat tortillas, beef fajitas, black beans and tortillas with honey butter and jam.

We are very proud of our little girl....
Kassidy won a Blue Ribbon, she won the Junior division for the county, a cookbook and this cute apron.
The Judges said that she is a really good cook and someday they will come to her restaurant

Fun pictures

Kennedy wanted to look for deer, I would ask her, "did you see some" she would refply, "No, I didn't" or "uh haa"
Travis and his little man
My beautiful family
Look, I got into a picture
Story time
Kassidy found a five point elk shed, she was so excited. I found a broken one but Kennedy was thrilled to hold it like sister.
now what do I do with it?
Kody is going to help dad get the knife out of the sink drain that mom dropped in there...
she is just wiped out, and pretty cute

Trail Ride at the range

Travis' friends let us spend the night at their summer ranch in our trailer, we went to look for some deer and really enjoyed the scenery. This is the place that has some of Travis' favorite lifetime memories. It was fun to hear him tell us the stories of his family going to get wood and hunting up there when he was young. This is what his "Earth" in the next life will look like. I think it will be heavenly.
This is looking at the range from the northern end.
Kennedy throws the funniest fits, Kody is like- What, its her not me...
Kennedy loves her Papa
Kass is such a cutie. she is a lifesaver when it comes to the babies. She can keep them happy for at least a few minutes.

Looking west across the range
We went to china town, this is looking back off of the very steep road the babies and I drove on. I strapped them into the carseats and they both fell asleep. I actually got to read a few chapters of my book.
There is a deer inbetween the trees on the left side of the picture, dad went and flushed them out. No one believed Kass when she said it was a buck, she was right!

China town. The picture is not dirty, the flecks are snow!
This was the first time I had seen it, I have heard about it for 17 years. It was an amazing sight but it was extremely cold- about 30 degrees.
My dad didn't want me to get to close to the edge. He stood back a ways and held the horses.
The girls were troopers, seriously, it was cold on top of the world.
Papa and Kody holding the horses
Proof that I drove up and down the way to steep trails to get there!
The top of the world, looking out towards the wasatch mountains. It was beautiful. Thank you Trav for taking us and for Dad and Tonya for joining us. It was a great weekend. No cell phones, just peace and memories old and new.

Cattle Drive

We had fun on the cattle drive, it was incredibly windy. We bought Kassidy a helmet and she was really good about wearing it. Her horse did great, her boots were too small (she told us the day before we left) but she made it work. No one got bucked off so it was good. We can usually plan on at least one accident. The kids and I followed in the truck. The babies tore it apart. Teddy, (the dog) did really well. She decided that she liked to dig in prairie dog holes. We got to stay in our trailer for the first time. I made a nice big list of everything that we needed to add to it of course. The weather was mostly nice and the company was great....
Kass is in the pink hat
HI There, Diva and I are fine. Kass made a few new friends, she always has fun on the cattle drive
Travis is telling the legend of Robbers Roost to Nana and Papa
I wanted to capture the scenery along the drive, so here it is.
I think the Lord let the angels play with rocks and mud to see what they could create
Cows, or as Kennedy said, Baby cows, mooooo

Travis is roping more, he thinks he likes it. His horse is still deciding if he likes it

Travis closing the gate when the cows are in.
Kassidy at the end, dusty and windblown but she had fun
I decided that Travis' horse is kindof big. He doesn't seem that big at home and at least Travis' legs aren't dragging on the ground.
More scenery
This is the start of the drive, pretty huh (last day) but we only went one day so I guess it counts as the start.
Trav got to rope a calf and drag it to the trailer
Pushing through the gate, Kass is looking for me to make sure we make it through the gate, sweet girl.
