Disaster and updates

Well, accidents happen and if your not prepared, they can cause a lot of heart ache. Like when your husband is mopping the floor and accidentally knocks the laptop onto the tile floor and the pictures haven't been backed up for a month, (which means I potentially lost 300 pictures). So, the computer guy has the computer- which is totally broken, trying to save my files. The lesson has been learned, I will back up to the external hard drive weekly. I swear.
Night shift is going well. The drive home is a little scary sometimes, but I am sleeping OK. Travis is not a big fan since he has to get the girls ready for bed and get them up in the mornings. I love having more time at home. I might actually get caught up on my laundry!!!
Kass has a stomach flu, she came home early from school today and promptly threw up at the bottom of my bed, then slept for 3 hours. Luckily, her asthma has not yet been effected. She called me crying because daddy's cuddles aren't as good as mine and she wanted me home. that's always the hardest part of working. Choices I guess. I think its good for her to spend the time with her daddy and sister.

Nativity

The Nativity- There is a great story behind this, please forgive my tears that you can't see.

About 30 years ago, my mom painted a nativity scene for My Grandma. (my dad's mom, the one I lost in November) It is a part of every Christmas memory I have of my Grandma. It was always displayed during the holidays. It was glazed and had an iradecent shine to it. It was so precious.

When my grandma died, I was told that it had been promised to my cousin because Grandma thought that mom had made one for my sister and I. I was on a quest. I called several ceramic shops and inquired about the scene. No one had one like it. SO one day, We went and took pictures of Grandmas set then headed to a little ceramic shop about 5 miles from where I grew up. The lady that owns it was headed out of town, but she had stopped by the shop for a little while. I described the nativity scene to her. She said that the year before, she had aquired some molds from a lady that had a ceramic shop in the area. She invited me to walk back and look at what she had. I walked to the back of her shop, and there on her shelf was THE nativity. I cried. It was a miricale. The mold was over 30 years old but there it was, the exact nativity from my childhood. I was sooo excited. I bought a set for myself and one for my sister. Now, 10 months later, I have it completed. It is proudly displayed on my piano- even though it is September, I don't care, Its beautiful, its message is powerful, the memories are sweet, and I will pass the memory to my children (and I will make them one each so there's no fighting when I kill over).

The birth of the Savior, I wish I could remember how glorious it was. For now, I will just imagine.

You can't see it, but it has a pearl finish. IT s just beautiful, but yes, I am biased.

Confession

I have a confession. I am addicted to pictures. Its an illness I know. I don't think that they have found a cure for it yet though. I backed up my hard drive the other day.......27 gigs of pictures, roughly 15,000 files. Travis said that you can watch the kids grow up- day by day. I have them backed up on 2 computers and and external hard drive. Curse the invention of the digital camera. I am afraid that the disease is contagious. Some of the best pictures that I have are ones that Kassidy has taken. She earned a bunch of money and we offered to pay for half, so now she has her very own camera so that she can get her fix too. Kennedy is already eyeing my camera- I guess I will just have to upgrade (again). Someday, I will take less pictures, but until then, I will watch my babies grow up, one picture at a time.
I think that Kennedy Loves her sister. She gets so excited when ever she hears her voice. Kassidy gave her her first piggy back ride, with a little help from Daddy.
I had to take a picture, Kennedy was wrapping her arm around her sister and was all jealous because Kass got to eat regular food and all she gets is rice cereal, BORING.

Papa and Nana love

We got to head south and meet Nana and Papa for lunch, the girls had a great time.

Kassidy manopilized her Papa and Kennedy had Nana head over heels.

Yet again

Well, as happens every year,,,,we are just past the first week of school and Kassy has a cold. So, of course little miss Kennedy has one too. Poor kid. She is miserable. She sleeps about 45 minutes then wakes up. All night long. yes, I am exhausted.Let me just say that, Pregnant 10 years ago was a heck of a lot easier than it is now. This kid is kicking my butt. We are struggling to pick boy names- so if you have ideas,,, I'm just sayin'
