The delivery story

Little T

Kennedy

Kassidy

Travis

Karen with Travis
I thought I had better get this down while it is fresh in my mind....

7 pm Saturday night, I had my first contraction, they ran every 5 minutes, I drove home and Rhonda came and picked me up and took me to McKay. Travis met us there, (after I had to text his brother to get him out of priesthood meeting). After 20 minutes, they checked me in. After another 30 minutes, they got me on a monitor and checked me. Although my contractions were consistent and I was progressing slowly, the nurse and my MD felt that I could go home. They couldn't "help" me along because I wasn't 39 weeks. So we went home. By 11:30 I was contracting every 2 minutes so at 12:30 am I told Travis I couldn't take it any more. I went so fast with Kass that I was a bit nervous so we went to Tremonton. They had me checked in, in a room and checked within 15 minutes. I had an epidural by 3 ish and the MD broke my water soon after. There was 1 + meconium in the amniotic fluid. The MD did an amnio wash which felt weird. At 5:14 we started pushing. We pushed for 8 minutes and he was born. His APGARS were 8, and 9, he required CPAP for 2 minutes but did great. He was 7 pounds, 14 ounces and 21 inches long. He definitely looks like Travis.

Grandma

I miss my grandma. I heard this song on the way to work this morning. It made me miss her more. When we got the call that Grandma was dying, we were in Arizona. Before dad headed back to grandma, I wrote her a letter that my aunt read to her. I told her to find my baby and send her to me. 5 months later Kennedy was born. I have no doubt that grandma played an intigral part in that process. I am sure that they spent many hours loving on each other. I am also sure that grandma and the Lord had a good talk about Little T. I am sure that they thought it would be very entertaining to send him right away, they are probably still laughing. I know that she is "In a better place" and that she is finally with grandpa again after 40 + years but I still miss her. She was always so good at keeping me grounded in the things that were important. She had such a way of putting me at ease and putting things into perspective. I hope that I can can be the kind of wife and mother that she wanted me to be. I was always enough for her and she loved my peaches.

March Fun

The dreaded "fill in the ditch" is providing hours of Fun for the girls

Kennedy's first "Official" horse ride, she loved it

Ya, she is that cute
Miranda, Amy, and Kass at their play

Kass picked a bowl for the popcorn that was about half the size that she needed.... it was all over the floor, it was too funny

When we were waiting for Kennedy to come last year, we were worried that Kass would miss her class picture, so we took a picture of her and cut it out for her teacher to hold, so that she would be in the picture. Kennedy has discovered it and it is her new favorite toy. she looks at it and giggles and giggles. She loves her sister.

Amy, Kassidy and Miranda

Our friend went to Hawii and brought Kennedy back a Dress and Lay, she brought Kass a coconut piggy bank, it was sweet and they love them.

You can't see the soaked shirt very well, but while I was doing Kassy's hair for her play, Kennedy got a hold of my salsa dish and started going to town on it. she had the entire bowl of salsa spilled down her shirt, (and the couch) Apparently, she is her mothers daughter and she loves salsa.

Just lovin on mama.

Sherezade

Kassidy was in a play at school. She was one of the "thieves". She is the cute kid in the pink hat and, not surprisingly, she spins her rope the best!!! She did a great job, we were very proud of her.

Naming the little man

We think that we have come up with a name. but first and update. He is approximately 6 pounds 14 ounces (Kennedy's size when she was born) and is still planning his appearance in 2 weeks.
so, for the name, we will name him after his father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Travis Hugh Earle Mote
that way we can call him
"THE" Mote
what do you think?

Our Eternal Family, March 14th, 2009

Notice the bottle in Daddy's pocket.

Grandma enjoyed the Temple with us.

Grandpa had Kennedy walking with his fingers- I have been trying to get her to do this for a month- guess she wasn't ready!!

She loves her mama. We have the same chubby cheeks even. (I am hoping mine go away soon)

Grandma got in on the walking action

Kennedy and Kassidy outside of the Temple, they looked just like angels.

Notice the great big belly, Little T tried to make an entrance, as soon as we walked out of the sealing room I started having contractions, they let up, luckily. (Sunday about 4 am)

This is our Miracle case worker Marisa, we were so honored to have her with us today.

As we stood taking pictures, a big hunk of snow fell from somewhere on high. Kass thinks it was angels trying to start a snowball fight.

I was very glad that my dress "expanded" enough to cover my belly. It was such a great day. We are very blessed. Travis said that if Little T came today, both of the babies could be sealed to us on the same day- He waited, apparently he wanted his own arrival day!!!

Our Special Day

We had an incredible day on Saturday. We were able to seal our little angel to us while our sweet Kassidy looked on. Our family is ours for Time and All Eternity. We were surrounded by our friends and family. We were so blessed to have our hero's Marisa and Mitch at the sealing with us. They were such an integral part in this entire process. We owe them so much, they have truly been instruments in Gods hands throughout this process. They have made things happen when I was almost out of hope. They worked so hard to bring and keep Kennedy in our home. Adoption is truly a miracle and they are miracle workers. I will fill in more details of the day later. It was amazing. Truly amazing.
